Ted T. Turtle Trail

Area Status: Open

This 1.2 mile interpretive trail takes you through a scenic hardwood forest, along a small creek and down to Lake Monroe and back. Along the trail, you can learn abou the history, geology, and wildlife common to southern Indiana. There are signs along the trail that interpret different aspects of history, wildlife, the environment and other points of interest.

General Information

Directions: Begin at the picnic shelter and amphitheater on Hardin Ridge Road. There is ample parking. A bulletin board/kiosk by the picnic shelter describes the trail and a paved trail and steps start off down the hill along the edge of the amphitheater.

Interpretive Areas

This trail has regular interpretive signs which speak to a variety of topics. As you hike the trail you have an opportunity to learn about several aspects of the environment. A brochure at the trailhead also invites you to do a scavenger hunt to get children more connected with items they may see along their hike.
