This large campground with 133 campsites is located along Rock Creek. Many of the sites are under tall trees, some sites along the creek.

Busiest Season: July-August
Restrictions: Dogs on leash only. Maximum stay 21 days. Active bear area. All food must be secured overnight and when not attended; bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36").  Always keep a clean camp and do not feed wildlife.
Closest Towns: Crowley Lake 10 Miles, Bishop 24 miles

Restroom: Flush toilets
Passes: The America the Beautiful Access and Senior Passes are honored here for 1/2 price camping.

General Information


From Mammoth Lakes go south on US 395 for approximately 13 miles. Take the Tom's Place exit and follow Forest Service Highway 12 (Rock Creek Road) for about five miles. From Bishop go north on US 395 for about 30 miles. Take the Tom's Place exit and follow Forest Service Highway 12 (Rock Creek Road) for about five miles. The campground will be on the left.
