Ranger Trailhead #41

This trail is located within the Kanab Creek Wilderness. Towering perpendicular cliffs hug the trail on the east, while the broad expanse of Kanab Creek and its tributaries spread out ot the west.

This trail is in a remote area, with limited water, high summer temperatures and extremely rugged terrain.

Restrictions: No motor vehicles or motorized equipment may be operated in the Kanab Creek Wilderness.
Water: None. Bring everything you will need.

General Information

Directions:

Access: At 1/4 miles south of the Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center on AZ 67 turn right on FR 461 for about 5.5 miles to FR 462. Turn right and go to FR 22. Turn left on FR 22 and go about 8.5 miles to FR 447.

Turn right on FR 447 and go 4 miles to FR 427. Turn right on FR 427 and go 0.3 miles to FR 234. Turn left and go 7 miles to FR 423. Turn left to the end of the road (about 0.8 miles). All roads are suitable for passenger cars.
