Kaibab National Forest closes Spring Valley rental cabin indefinitely - March 19, 2020

The Kaibab National Forest has closed Spring Valley rental cabin indefinitely for the health and safety of visitors and staff. Notifications to renters will be made as soon as possible and refunds will be processed. As we work through an unpredictable and rapidly changing situation, health and safety is our number one priority. We are committed to continuing to support our communities and fulfill our mission as we all work together to minimize the impacts and spread of COVID-19. This closure has been taken based on the best available medical advice for cleaning per CDC guidelines and to promote social distancing.


The Kaibab National Forest is pleased to offer historic Spring Valley Cabin to you through the Arizona Cabin Rental Program. Enjoy spectacular views, cross-country ski trails, and time "away from it all" at the furnished abode. The cabin has a capacity of eight people for overnight stays, and is available year-round. With the bunkhouse up to six more people can stay overnight, for a total capacity of 14 people. The bunkhouse is not reservable on its own.

Restrictions: Pets are not permitted in the cabin or bunkhouse, except service animals. Smoking is prohibited inside the cabin or bunkhouse.
Closest Towns: Nearby cities include Flagstaff, which is approximately 20 miles east, and Williams, which is approximately 20 miles west from the rental cabin.

General Information


Take exit 178 off of Interstate 40 at Parks (about 14 miles east of Williams, AZ). Proceed 1/10 of a mile and turn left; follow this road (Old Route 66) 1/2 mile; turn right onto Spring Valley Road at the Old Parks Store. Spring Valley Road is County Road 141. The pavement ends just before you reach milepost 6. Continue on Forest Road (FR) 141 to the intersection of FR 76, just past milepost 8. Look for the Spring Valley Cabin sign. Turn left on FR 76 and proceed 3/4 mile and the cabin will be visible on your left.

General Notes:

During winter months, people reserving Spring Valley Cabin may only be able to access it by hiking, snowshoeing or cross country skiing. The cabin is open year-round for reservation, but winter conditions may necessitate closure of access roads in the area. Please contact the Williams Ranger District at (928) 635-5600 to inquire about road status near Spring Valley Cabin during winter months.
