Gum Springs Horse Camp and Trails
The Gum Springs Equestrian Camp is a very popular destination for cowboys and cowgirls from all over Louisiana and other states such as Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Nebraska. This is a great forest ride and the trail is wide enough to accommodate wagons. There is plenty of parking for pickup trucks with trailers. There is also primitive camping, hitching posts, corral, vault toilet, water, and trash disposal.
The SHORT LOOP of Gum Springs Horse Trail is OPEN.
The LONG LOOP of Gum Springs Horse Trail is OPEN.
Visitors can access two developed equestrian trails and miles of open forest at the Gum Spring trailhead. The trails are wide enough to accommodate wagons. Sections of both trails pass through Keiffer Prairie where native grasses and cedar trees are predominate. You will also enjoy piney woods and hardwood bottoms as you ride along these trails.
