Day Hiking

The Pacific Crest Trail crosses Callahan Cecilville Road here at Carter Meadows Summit. Head north for the Russian Wilderness and southeast to the Trinity Alps Wilderness and eventually the Shasta National Forest. There are many side trails for day hikes and beautiful mountain lakes to visit along the way.
Fire InformationA current California Campfire Permit is required to use a camp stove, barbecue or have a campfire outside the developed campground. Local fire restrictions supersede the campfire permit. Inquire at the Ranger Station before having a fire.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate to Difficult
