Whitetail Campground

  

The Whitetail Campground is located north of Troy on Yaak Hwy 508. The campground has 12 sites, including one host site, with tables and fire rings. Campground roads and parking spurs are gravel. Amenities include potable water, vault toilets, and an undeveloped access for small packable boats to the Yaak River.

At a Glance

Operational Hours: The campground is managed from mid-May through mid-September, but is available all year to visitors. Access is dependent upon weather conditions.
Reservations:
  • All campsites are on a first come; first serve basis.
  • The Yurt can be reserved by visiting Recreation.gov.  Reservations must be made 4 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 6 months in advance. 
Fees
  • $12.00 daily fee per single site 50% discount with US Golden Age/Access or Interagency Senior/Access Passes
  • $25.00 per night, Check-in 2:00 PM, Check-out 11:00 AM

Restrictions: 14 day stay limit on all National Forest System Lands. Pets are welcome, but must be leashed. Lighting of fireworks is not allowed on National Forest System Lands.

Information Center: Directions: From Troy, travel 9.5 miles west on Hwy 2 and turn right onto Yaak Hwy 508. Follow for 24 miles to the campground entrance. Laundry, showers, ice, gas and store are located in Yaak.
