Hat Creek Campground

Area Status: Closed

Hat Creek Campground opens Wednesday, April 26 for the summer season.

Hat Creek Campground is situated in a mixed coniferous forest, adjacent to Hat Creek. Stream fishing in Hat Creek contains trophy trout. The scenic Spatter Cones Trail is across the street. The fun and adventurous Subway Cave is only a mile to the north. Area and interpretive information can be found at the Old Station Visitor Information Center.

Fish Your National Forests: This site can be accessed by Passenger Car; Fish available include: Trout; Types of fishing available include: Shore, Fly, Spin, Bait.

Current Conditions: Closed for the season starting October 9, 2023.Until further notice, when opened, Hat Creek Campground will be available for DRY camping only while we replace the pump at the water tank.
Reservations:  N/A. Hat Creek campground is first come, first served.

Fees: $16 per site.  Maximum of 2 vehicles per site.  Extra vehicles $5 per night. Check in after 3:00 PM, check out before 2:00 PM.

Restrictions: 14-day limit; campfires in designated fire rings only; no saving/holding campsites
Closest Towns: Hat Creek Campground is located 1 mile west of the town of Old Station, and 12 miles east of the NW entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The town of Burney is 26 miles north.
