Santa Barbara Ranger District
Santa Barbara Ranger District offers camping, day hiking, backpacking, fishing, horse riding and camping, mountain biking, hunting, OHV riding and camping, swimming in the Santa Ynez River and beautiful wildflower displays in the spring.
There are no cabins. Campgrounds only.

Fees: | The parking fee at day use picnic areas and trailheads in the Lower Santa Ynez Recreation area is $10 a day. This recreation area is managed by the Parks Management Company (PMC) for the Forest Service. PMC sells an annual day use pass that can be used for day use parking in the Lower Santa Ynez Recreation area. For more information about the PMC Annual Pass, go to: www.campone.com. |

Dispersed Camping
Call (805) 724-0079 Mon-Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm for information about dispersed camping opportunities on the Santa Barbara Ranger District. Dispersed camping is allowed on W. Camino Cielo on the Santa Barbara Ranger District and Happy Canyon Road and Figueroa Mountain Road on the Santa Lucia Ranger District. No campfires allowed. Gas or propane stoves only with a CA Campfire Permit. You can obtain a permit at www.readyforwildfire.com. Please pack everything out including trash and human waste. Thank you for keeping our national forest clean. Please practice Leave No Trace principles.
