Meadow Fork Trail #376
Moderate hiking through old growth stands of pine and fir, on the south side of Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. Water is limited the entire length of the trail. Little Riner Basin is a base to explore the east end of the wilderness and Lakes Basin. Panoramic views are limited, except at the upper end of the trail. Area impacted by wildfires in the recent past.

General Information
Directions:From Prairie City, OR., turn onto South Main Street. Follow South Main Street to the junction with Bridge Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street and continue past the cemetary. The road then becomes County Road 62. Follow County road 62 approximately 20 miles to the junction with Forest Road 16. Go west on Forest Road 16 approximately 6 miles to the junction with Forest Road 924. Follow Forest Road 924 for approximately 1.5 miles to the junction with Forest Road 1648. Follow Forest Road 1648 approximately 0.5 miles to the junction with Forest 021. Follow Forest Road 021 approximately 1.5 miles to the junction with Forest Road 039. Follow Forest Road 039 to the trailhead.
Activities
Day Hiking
For those wishing to enjoy a day hike in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness visitors can connect with Mud Lake Trail #379. This trail passes two lakes Mud Lake and Little Mud Lake before connecting to Skyline Trail #385 and if you head west the trail leads to High Lake. This makes a great day hike.
Backpacking
The Meadow Fork Trail is a great starting point for those wishing to enjoy the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. There are multiple opportunities for multiday backpacking trips, with loops that will lead to Slide Lake and Strawberry Lake, Little Strawberry Lake, High Lake, Mud Lake then back to the trailhead with connections to other trails and further hikes.
Horse Riding
Riders can follow the Meadow Fork trail to access the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. This 4.6 mile trail allows riders the opportunity to enjoy a short 9.2 mile round trip ride or travel further connecting with Skyline Trail #385, which will allow riders the opportunity to enjoy a mulitday riding experience that will lead to other trails and further exploring of the wilderness.
This trail is used by hikers, please be prepared to share the trail.
Please remove any unused hay when leaving the area.
Viewing Wildlife
This trail has great opportunities for wildlife viewing. Visitors may see deer, elk, mountain goats, as well as a variety of small creatures such as squirrels. Birds of multiple varities can be seen at all elevations if the trail.
