Cedar Grove Trail #203A
The Cedar Grove National Recreation Trail enables the public to visit a natural Cedar Botanical Area located on the Forest. This area is unique since it has the only Alaskan yellow cedar trees within several hundred miles. There are several areas available to camp in the vicinity.
The area was burned over in recent years during wildfires. Yellow Cedar are still visible, and the area is a great place to see how nature recovers after wildfires.

Activities
Day Hiking
The trail crosses a broad ridge, then descends a timbered slope and ends in a short loop through the grove of Alaska yellow cedars. The terrain is steep and rough as it passes through a dense fir forest and large rock outcroppings.
Viewing Plants
There are many plants in the area, including wildflowers in the late spring throughout the summer. The main draw for plant enthusiasts would be the stand of Alaskan Yellow Cedar in which the trail loops through.
