Black Dragon Trail

The Black Dragon Trail #5035 (Arapeen Route #62) is 1.8 miles long and provides a connection between the Ferron Canyon Picnic Area adjacent to Forest Road (FR) 0022 and FR 0170 south of Joes Valley.  The trail passes through a rocky sandstone canyon vegetated with pinyon-juniper.  It climbs from 6,400 feet in elevation to 6,750 feet.

North End (Road #50170):             6,801 feet

Directions:

From Ferron, turn west onto 100 South/Canyon Rd and travel approximately 9.2 miles.  Turn right into the Ferron Canyon Picnic area and continue to Black Dragon Trail #5035.
