Lower Two Mile Trail


Area Status: Open

The Lower Two-Mile Trail #979 is 2.0 miles long.  It begins at Road #072 and ends at Road #801.  This trail descends the southern portion of Two-Mile Creek following its banks.  This trail can be combined with open State Trust Land trails as well.  This trail can be combined with a variety of other trails and roads to create multiple loop routes.  Other trails to consider combining to make a loop include: #980 (Two-Mile Connector), #983 (Trinity Canyon), #981 (Upper Two-Mile) as well as various State Trust Land Trails and Roads.  Forest Roads to consider combining with this trail to make a loop include: #072 (Lower Two-Mile), #743, #744, #745, #746, #747, #748, #201 (Hang Dog), #202 (Hop Creek), #203 (Dry Draw) as well as various State Trust Land Trails.

 

Elevation Change:

West End (Road #072):  7,017 feet / 2,139 meters

East End (Road #801):   6,850 feet / 2,088 meters

Restrictions: Open to:  Hiking, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding, Motorcycle Trail Riding, and Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) less than or equal to 50 inches wide.
Closest Towns: La Sal, UT
Water: Two-Mile Creek is an perennial stream but is unreliable. Users should carry their own water.

Directions:

From La Sal, head east on UT-46 and continue 7.0 miles.  At Old La Sal, turn left onto Co Rd #125/Forest Road #072 (Lower Two Mile) and travel approximately 3.1 miles to Lower Two-Mile Trail #979 located on your right.
