The Tuk trail starts a half mile in on the Burlfriends trail (starting from the La Sal Pass parking area off Forest Road 0073). It is 1 mile one way and climbs up to the ridge below Mt. Tukuhnikivatz. This is a steep, difficult trail.

This trail is open to hiking and equestrian use.

General Information


From Moab, head south on US191 and travel 22 miles. Turn left at the Hwy 46 junction to the town of La Sal. Then drive another 13 miles and take a left on to the Upper Two Mile graveled dirt road. After 2 miles make a left turn for the La Sal Pass Road. Drive 6 more miles to the La Sal Pass parking area. There is one stream crossing that at low flows is suitable for most higher clearance two-wheel-drive vehicles. This road may be impassable in certain seasons or weather conditons.
