The Bachelor Basin trail is 6.6 miles long. It begins at the Miner's Basin Trailhead and ends at FR 0207/Castleton Gateway Road.  The last 1.1 miles of the trail on the northern end are on private land, so trail users should plan to stay on the trail through this property.  The trail shares a trailhead (TH) with the Miners Basin to Warner Lake Trail.

The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking and Horseback Riding.

General Information

Directions:

To get to the Miner's Basin trailhead: From Moab- Head south on US 191 for 7.8 miles and turn left at the Ken's Lake/ La Sal Mountain Loop Road brown sign. Take a right after 0.6 miles at the T-intersection and follow the La Sal Mountain Loop Road up into the mountains. Continue for about 19 miles until the turnoff to Miner's Basin Road (FS0065) on the right. Follow this road roughly 3 miles to the trailhead which is at the end of the road. 

A high clearance, four wheel drive vehicle is needed to drive the Miner's Basin Road.
