The La Sal Loop - Moab Front Recreation Area is in southeastern Utah near the city of Moab and Arches National Park. It extends from Forest Road 207 near Castle Valley on the north to the southern Forest boundary, and from the west Forest boundary to east Forest boundary and La Sal Pass road in the southeast. Perhaps one of the most photographed mountain ranges in Utah, the La Sal Mountains form a spectacular backdrop to the red rock desert features in the valleys. This recreation area provides opportunities for scenic drives, hiking, mountain biking, camping, peak-bagging, backcountry skiing, hunting, and snowmobiling. It is most easily accessed from US 191 and Moab to Spanish Valley.
