West Rim Texas Canyon Trail

The West Rim Texas Canyon Trail #003 is 7.2 miles long.  It begins at Forest Road #347 and ends on BLM land at Arch Canyon Road.  This trail drops significantly in the 1st mile of the trail beginning at the northwest trailhead off of Forest Road #347.  It then gradually descends along an open (hot in summer) bench above Texas Canyon with beautiful views into the canyon before descending to Arch Canyon Road.

North West End (Road #347):  8,484 feet

South East End (FS Bndry):      7,273 feet

General Information

Accessibility:

This trail crosses the USFS boundary and onto BLM land.  Access to the southeast end of the trail is via BLM land.


Directions:

From Blanding, head south on US-191 S/S Main St and travel 3.9 miles.  Turn right onto UT-95 N and travel 30.2 miles.  Turn right onto UT-275 N/Natural Bridge and travel 0.7 miles.  Take the 1st right onto Elk Mountain (Elk Ridge Road #088) and travel 8.4 miles.  Turn right onto Forest Road #347 and travel 0.8 miles to West Rim Texas Canyon Trail #003.
