Esterbrook Campground

Area Status: Open

NOTE:  Esterbrook Work Center does not have public water sources.  Campground water pump is for campground users.

6300' elevation. 12 sites in a lightly wooded area. 14 day stay limit. Non-motorized access to the Sunset Ridge Trail is available at two points within the campground. An OHV trailhead is 1/2 mile down the NFSR 633 road to access the motorized trail system.  It is located in the Laramie Peak area and is managed by the Douglas Ranger District.

Restrictions: OHVs must be loaded at all times and may not be driven inside the campground. No horses. Wyoming State OHV stickers are required for driving any Forest Service OHV trails.
Closest Towns: Esterbrook, which has a small store, 3 miles west; or Douglas, a full-service community, which is 38 miles north.

General Information


From Douglas, take WY 94 16.4 miles to a "Y" intersection with County Road 5/Esterbrook Rd. Bear left onto Esterbrook Rd. and go 10.8 miles to the Esterbrook Work Center at a "Y" intersection with Forest Route 633. Continue on FR 633 and go 0.2 miles through a small community to another "Y" intersection. Bear left, staying on FR 633; go 3 miles to campground.
