Brooklyn Lake Campground

Brooklyn Lake CGThe campground is located on Brooklyn Lake. Every site has a view of the lake ranging from great to spectacular. The lake is a nice canoeing lake in the shadow of the snow capped Browns Peak. This campground provides 19 campsites with tables, fire rings, trash pick up, and vault toilets. There is fishing access in Brooklyn Lake and trail access to the Sheep Lake Trail #389 and Glacier Lakes Trail. Internal-combustion motors are prohibited on the lake, only hand-powered boating allowed. There is a carry down access for boats (no ramp). Dogs must be leashed in the campground.

Directions from Laramie: Travel 37 miles west on Highway 130, then 2.5 miles north on Brooklyn Lake Road (National Forest Service road 315).

Lake and Pond Fishing

Brooklyn Lake is 36 acres in size, has a water depth of 38 feet and is located at an elevation of 10,526 feet. The lake is stocked by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD). Brooklyn Lake supports brook trout, cutthroat trout and Splake (a hybrid cross between a male brook trout and female lake trout).

Three miles south of the campground on Forest Road 317 is Little Brooklyn Lake. Little Brooklyn consists of 8 acres and is 6 feet deep. This lake also has brook trout, cutthroat trout and Splake.

Internal-combustion motors are prohibited on most Forest lakes. Use of live-bait fish is prohibited in lakes and streams of the Forest. For more information on boating and fishing regulations, contact the WGFD located in Cheyenne or Laramie.
