Deer Creek Trailhead

At the west end of the North Laramie Range, this trailhead offers a parking area for five or six vehicles.
This trail passes through lodgepole pine, aspen and lush meadows, providing access into the interior of the Deer Creek Roadless Area. The area is vibrant with wildflowers and a diverse species of wildlife. This area is a primary elk calving ground.  It is managed by the Douglas Ranger District.

Follow Highway 94 (Esterbrook Road) south from Douglas to County Road 9 (Chalk Buttes Road), west to Highway 91 (Cold Springs Road), south to County Road 24 (Cold Springs Road) southwest to Forest Road 660 (Basin Road) northwest to Forest Road 659.
