Open June-Sept for visitor information.
Billed as the Gateway to the Snowy Range Scenic Byway, the Visitor Center’s staffing generally coincides with the status of Wyoming Highway 130. A Forest Service employee will be on site generally around Memorial Day and through sometime in October, whenever the highway closes for the year. Hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wed. through Sun. Visitor Center phone number is 307-742-9730.
Visitors to the 1,110 square-foot building will notice that beetle-killed pine has been used in a variety of ways in the design, some even salvaged from trees on site. Also on site is a pollinator garden, a short walking trail, pads for picnic tables, as well as interpretive signage and maps, both inside and outside. Maps, passes, forest product permits and some merchandise are sold at the Visitor Center.
Directions: Take Highway 130 west 30 miles from Laramie to Centennial. The visitor center is at the forest boundary 1 mile west of Centennial.
