Anderson Butte Trail 611.1

  

Enjoy breathtaking views of Cascade peaks from this old fire lookout site. The 1930s lookoutwas removed in 1964. Start hiking at the junction one mile along the Anderson-Watson Lakes Trail 611 and go to the left (east). You will climb rather steeply for 0.8 miles to the 5,420-foot top of Anderson Butte and the abandoned lookout.

General Information

Directions:

From the Mt. Baker Ranger District in Sedro-Woolley, WA follow State Route 20 east for 16 miles to milepost 82. Turn left (north) on the Baker Lake Highway (Forest Service Road 11). Continue for 14 miles to the Baker Dam Road and turn right. Drive past the Puget Sound Energy Kulshan Campground and across the Upper Baker Dam. After crossing the dam, turn left on FS Road 1107. Follow road 1107 for 10 miles. Turn left on FS Road 1107022 and follow to the trailhead and parking area located on the right.
