Pacific Crest Trail 2000 Snoq.Pass N
This is one of the most beautiful and most crowded sections of the 2,620-mile-long Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. From the Commonwealth Basin Trail 1033 (area is unavailable) at 2.75 miles near the Alpine Lakes Wilderness boundary.
Continue within Alpine Lakes Wilderness up switchbacks around Kendall Ridge to the Kendall Katwalk, a section of blasted-out solid granite. This section is treacherous when snow-covered or icy. The Katwalk at 5.5 miles is a good turnaround point for day hikers.
Backpackers can continue along heather meadows to the saddle between tiny Ridge and Gravel Lakes, where they will find the first campsites. At this point, 7.5 miles, the trail continues north to Stevens Pass and beyond towards Henry M. Jackson Wilderness and Glacier Peak Wilderness.
