Current Conditions: NOTE:  The final 1.8 mile stretch of the Mt. Baker Highway (SR 542) to Artist Point is closed to vehicles, the gate is located at milepost 54.7.  Check the Washington Department of Transportation website for updates.  There are no toilets or trash receptacles at this time. Please use the restrooms at the Heather Meadows Visitor Center and pack out your trash.

Best Season: Summer / Fall
Restrictions: Wilderness regulations apply within Mt. Baker Wilderness.
Closest Towns: Glacier, Washington
Water: No potable water
Restroom: No toilet at this time
Passes: Recreation passes may be used as a form of fee payment.

General Information


From Glacier, WA travel east to the end of Mt. Baker Highway SR 542. It is approximately 24 miles from the Glacier Public Service Center to the Artist Point parking lot.
