South Fork Cascade River Trail 769


Note:  This trail is not recommended.  The Mineral Park Fire and flooding damaged the South Fork Cascade River Trail 769 and Forest Service Road 1590 in 2003. The trail has not been maintained since 2007.

General Information

Directions:

 

From the Mt. Baker Ranger District office in Sedro-Woolley, follow State Route 20 east for 39 miles to Marblemount. On the east end of town, turn right on the Cascade River Road, immediately cross the Skagit River and continue on the Cascade River Road for 17 miles to the junction of FS road 1590, which intersects on a sharp switchback. FS road 1590 is closed to motorized vehicles.  Hike 1.9 miles to the old trailhead on the closed road.
