Witch Dance Horse Trail

This scenic horse trail winds through majestic stands of pines and hardwoods, crosses meandering streams, and offers a changing view of the landscape every few hundred feet of its 15-mile length. There is a Forest Service trailhead at the north end access called Payamatha Trailhead. It has a chemical toilet. The south end access of the trail is a National Park Service trailhead called Witch Dance Trailhead. It is on the Natchez Trace Parkway and has water, restrooms and hitching posts.

The trail is open to hikers and horseback riders only. Witch Dance Horse Trail is open year-round unless winter weather conditions require the area to be closed. No user fees required.
