General Information
Directions:
Follow 28/55 from Petersburg, WV, for 8 miles. Turn left onto the Smoke Hole Road, Route 28/11, and travel for 13 miles to County Route 2. Turn left onto the Smoke Hole Road, County Route 2, and follow for approximately 3 miles to Big Bend Campground.
Optional Directions: Follow US Route 220 from Petersburg, WV to the Upper Tract Bridge at County Route 2. Take a right at the Bridge and follow County Route 2 for 10 miles into the campground.
Campsites are suitable for tent or trailer camping. Each site has a picnic table, tent pad, lantern holder, and fire ring. Water, a dump station, and toilets are available.

River and Stream Fishing
Fishing is allowed in the South Branch of the Potomac River. A valid West Virginia State Fishing License is required, along with a National Forest stamp, a Conservation stamp, and a trout stamp. Please contact the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources for more information on fishing and hunting licensing requirements.

There are 30 miles of maintained trails nearby and a vast backcountry to explore without trails. A one mile loop trail is available at the campground.
