A display of taxidermy animals features local wildlife to the area.

The Cranberry Mountain Nature Center has many interesting features that appeal to visitors of all ages and backgrounds, including an exhibit hall, auditorium, events and programs. The center also features a native plant garden, a nature trail, and many events geared toward children. While visiting the nature center, take a few minutes to walk the interpretive trail around the grounds. Signs will point out tree species and give facts on many uses of the trees. There is a beautiful overlook where you enjoy a picnic lunch and view the sites from Stamping Creek, just down the mountain, to the mountains of Virginia in the distance.

Current Conditions: The building is closed. Staff are available to assist visitors at an outdoor information desk in front of the building, Thursdays through Mondays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Subject to change depending on current conditions.
Operational Hours: Thursdays through Mondays (closed Tuesdays/Wednesdays), 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through the open season.
Rentals & Guides: Special programs and guided tours can be arranged.
Open Season: Mid-April - mid-October
Closest Towns: Hillsboro, WV (7 miles to the east); Richwood, WV (22 miles to the west); Marlinton, WV (16 miles to the east)  
Water: Drinking fountain.
Restroom: Full-service restrooms.
