Cedar Creek Upper Trailhead

Area Status: Open

Located adjacent to our ski area, this trail offers both hikers, mountain bikers and equestrian units a downhill run of some 3 plus miles that ends at the Cedar Creek Lower Trailhead. Easy access and close to Alturas and Cedarville. Before you head out to the trail, consider checking out this guide to the interpretive sites.

Restrictions:	When parking for extended periods at trailheads always secure all food, packaging and ice chests in the trunk of your vehicle. Do not park in front of gates or partially obstruct a fire road.

General Information

Directions: From Alturas go north 5 miles on US Hwy 395 to Hwy 299. Turn east on Hwy 299 toward Cedarville and go approximately 13 miles to the sign for the ski area. Turn south and the ski area is visable from the road. The trailhead is just east of the ski hill.

Start at the upper trailhead and hike down the 3 miles to the lower trailhead for an easier day hike. There is parking along the road or at the ski area.

Fire Information

Campfires are not permitted anywhere along this trail.
