East Fork Trail #650
This trail follows the west bank of the East Fork of the Hood River and passes through a variety of mature timber. Fishing is accessible from various locations along the way. This trail can be used as a part of a loop between Tamanawas Falls #650A and then take Tamanawas Tie #650B to Elk Meadows Trail #645 and back to East Meadow Trail for a round-trip hike of approximately 6 miles.
To reach Tamanawas Falls, follow the East Fork Trail #650 steeply up from Polallie Trailhead (north access) to a junction with #645. Follow #645 to meet #650B and walk #650B to Tamanawas Falls Trail #650A and Tamanawas Falls.
This trail begins at Polallie Trailhead (OR Hwy 35) and ends at the Tamanawas Falls parking area (OR Hwy 35). From Polallie Trailhead (2,880’), head south 0.1 mile to the junction with Elk Meadows Trail #645. Continue south along the East Fork Hood River from the junction 1 mile to the junction with Tamanawas Trail #650A. From the Tamanawas Trail junction, continue south 0.5 mile to the end of the trail at Tamanawas Falls parking area (OR Hwy 35). The trail incurred heavy damage during recent flooding. The trail no longer crosses the Hood River to tie into the Robin Hood Campground.

General Information
Directions:From Hood River, OR take Highway 35 south for about 22.2 miles to the Polallie trailhead (north access), approximately .3 miles south of milepost 74. Drive an additional 5 miles south to the East Fork Tamanawas Falls trailhead (south access) on the west side of the highway.
