Timberline to Town Trail #756

Timberline to Town connects the town of Government Camp to Timberline Lodge. The trail is a popular for mountain bikes and many people shuttle the trail. The trail can be connected with crosstown and pioneer bridle for an even longer ride.This trail starts 100' above the junction of the Crosstown Trail and the glade trail. The terminus of the trail is at the base of the Magic Mile chairlift at Timberline Lodge.

Current Conditions: 05/29/20: Trail open, but be alert for down limbs, debris, or winter damage as trail may not have been cleared. Snow conditions could still be an issue at the higher elevations through mid July.   Avoid trails around snow or mud as these cause resource damage to high alpine environments.

Directions:
Directions from the Portland, OR International Airport
Airport Way to I-205 South
205 South to I-84 East (The Dalles exit)
I-84 East to exit 16 “Wood Village”
Right at stop sign on to 242nd
Follow 242nd to Burnside (approx. 3 mi.)
Left on Burnside (U-Haul rentals on the corner)
Burnside turns into Hwy 26 East at the Newport Bay restaurant
Follow Hwy 26 East to the Timberline Road turn-off (about 40 mi.); pass through the towns of Sandy, Welches, and Rhododendron.
Turn left on the the Timberline access road; follow the road to Timberline (6 mi.)
