French's Dome Trailhead

The French’s Dome Trailhead provides access to the popular rock climbing spot, French’s Dome. The short access trail takes visitors to a lone andesite crag located on the west side of Mount Hood. There are many climbing route options and the views of Mount Hood from the top are excellent.

General Information

Directions:

From Sandy, OR - follow US Hwy 26 17.5 miles east of Sandy to Zigzag and turn left (north) at E Lolo Pass Road (Forest Road 18).  Travel 6.1 miles on E Lolo Pass Road to a dirt pullout on the right with a Forest Service trail sign.  The trail leads down hill into the trees.  French’s Dome is 200 feet down the trail.
