Lamberson Spur Trail #644

This trail enters the Mount Hood Wilderness on the east side of Mount Hood.  The end of the trail offers an excellent view of Mount Hood. This trail was burnt over by the Garl Ridge fire, so there are open vistas now that weren't available prior to the fire.

This trail begins at Elk Meadows Trail #645 (3,800’) and ends on the east ridge of Lamberson Butte (5,120).  To get to the trail from Polallie Trailhead (OR Hwy 35), follow East Fork Trail #650 0.1 mile southwest to Elk Meadows Trail #645.  Turn right (northwest) on Elk Meadows Trail #645 and travel 2 miles the beginning of Lamberson Spur Trail #644.  Turn right onto #644 and climb 0.1 mile to an abandoned road (Forest Road 3510-620).  Cross the road and continue uphill on the moderate grade 1.7 miles to the end of the trail on the east ridge of Lamberson Butte (5,120).
