View from Sugar Camp National Forest Scenic Byway

Travel on this scenic byway combine paved highway and a nice 8 mile section of maintained gravel road for a total of 28 miles.  Most of the route is along wooded hills and valleys which are covered with mixed hardwoods, with intermingled eastern red cedar and pine stands. Vistas provide opportunity to view distant landscapes.  Two areas provide for visitors to rest and picnic. They are Onyx and Sugar Camp Tower. Roaring River State Park and Table Rock Lake provide opportunities and are close to the byway route.
