Strong Canyon Trailhead

Strong Canyon Trailhead is accessible from the east side of Highway 385 across from the entrance to Chadron State park. A small parking area on Forest Road 719 a short distance from the highway provides good access to the-non motorized Pine Ridge Trail and other motorized routes. Pine Ridge Trail is open to hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders.
Pine Ridge Trail east to:
- Kings Canyon Road is 4.1 miles
- Spotted Tail Trailhead is 7.7 miles
Forest Road 719 is open to all forms of motorized travel and provides access to motorcycle and ATV trails. Dispersed camping is allowed off of Forest Road 719. Refer to the Motor Vehicle Use map for more information on motorized travel and dispersed camping.

General Information
Directions:From Chadron, NE take Highway 385 from the intersection with Highway 20 for approximately 8 miles. Turn east opposite of the entrance to Chadron State Park. Continue about .2 miles on Forest Service Road 719 to a small parking area and the Strong Canyon Trailhead.
