Churchill Trail #210

From the trailhead on Road #222, the trail fords Crooked Creek, crosses the Dixie landing strip, and enters a lodgepole forest. The trail climbs along a ridge, drops into Rhett Creek at mile 1.5, and climbs back out and along a ridge. The area is densely forested with lodgepole pine, Douglas-fir, huckleberry, and alder. At mile 4, Rabbit Point Trail #217 branches off to the south. The first half of the trail is the most heavily traveled. The junction with Trail #217 marks the end of the gradual uphill grade. From here to its end on the Salmon River, Trail #210 is very steep as it winds its way down through the river breaks. The ecosystem changes to almost exclusively ponderosa pine with steep, grassy, open slopes, which offer a scenic view of the river canyon. At mile 7.5, the trail crosses the wilderness boundary and enters the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness. The trail ends at its junction with Trail #96 on the Salmon River, just west of Whitewater Ranch.
