Lost Lake Trail #804

From its trailhead on Driveway Extension Trail #881, the trail descends on an easy grade to Lost Lake at 0.5 mile. The trail is rocky in places and is located in timber composed of Engelmann spruce, alpine fir, grand fir, and lodgepole pine. Both access trails are closed to all motorized vehicles yearlong. The more difficult access route is the section of Trail 881 east of the Lost Lake trailhead which is very steep to the junction with Twentymile Trail #414. The easier route is Driveway Extension Trail #881 from Santiam-Sourdough Road #492. It is an easy day trip for hikers and horseback riders. There is no snow removal on Santiam-Sourdough Road #492, so trips by cross-country skis or snowshoes is not practical.
