Giant Cedar Grove Trailhead
Just 30 minutes north of the sweet little town of Elk River, Idaho, the Giant Cedar Grove Trailhead marks the start of the paved and accessible Giant Red Cedar National Recreation Trail (Trail 748). Hikers can see the "Champion Tree of Idaho," more than 18' in diameter along with many groves of old growth cedar trees.

Directions:
From Elk River take County Road 382 north for approximately 10 miles, turn right on FS Road 4764, trailhead is 1/4 mile beyond parking area.

Trail 748: A.K.A. The Giant Red Cedar National Recreation Trail; 0.5 miles; 1 hour; An easy hike introducing visitors to wet draw and old-growth cedar stands. "Champion Tree of Idaho" (18 feet diameter, 177 feet height) is located here. Paved pathways make this a fully accessible trail.
