Looking Glass Falls Scenic Area

Area Status: Temporarily Closed

One of the most photographed waterfalls in the east. Located directly off of Hwy 276. Accessible top viewing deck, with stairs down to the creek. Be aware, there is no lifeguard on duty. Due to hazards created by Tropical Storm Fred, the stairs to the lower observation deck and the pool below the falls are closed as of August 28, 2021.

 

Parking is limited, please do not park in the road.

Current Conditions: In response to the widespread damage caused by Hurricane Helene, all recreation sites on the Pisgah and Nantahala remain closed until hazardous conditions improve and assessments can be completed.

Directions: From Pisgah District Ranger Station/Visitor Center parking lot, turn right (north) onto US 276. Drive approximately 6 miles on 276N. Falls located on right.
