Nichols Cove Trail #44

The Nichols Cove Trail is an interior trail and has no trailheads.  The trail starts on the northern end at Mile 4.5 of the Slickrock Creek Trail.  From that point, the Nichols Cove Trail is a very wet trail through rhododendron growth for approximately 1.4 miles, entering the actual Nichols Cove area at the junction with the Yellow Hammer Gap Trail and two gravestones for earlier settlers of the area.  From that point, the Nichols Cove Trail rises to meet the Windy Gap Trail at Mile 2.1, then descends to its terminal junction, again with Slickrock Creek Trail Mile 8.0, saving 0.7 mile of hiking and several fords on the Slickrock Creek Trail.
