Sliding Rock is a 60 foot natural water slide that ends in a 8 foot deep pool of water. There are 2 observation platforms, and is staffed during the season. Sliding Rock is now operated by the Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretation Association (CFAIA). This is a heavily used recreation area, come early. Try to avoid visiting during the hours of 12-4. Sliding Rock opens on Memorial Day weekend and is open 7 days a week through Labor Day weekend. After Labor Day weekend, there will be no lifeguards and no restrooms The recreation area may close due to heavy rainfall and increased water levels. Please be aware that picnicking and alcohol are prohibited at Sliding Rock.
