Rim (Formerly Apple Middle) Trailhead

 Located just north of Windy Point, this trailhead provides access to the middle segments of Ochoco Mountain Trail (#823). There is limited roadside parking in the turnout so please plan accordingly when you come.

General Information

Directions:

From Paulina, Oregon:

Head east on Paulina-Suplee Highway for 3.5 miles to County Road 113 (Beaver Creek Road).

Turn north (left) onto County Road 113 (Beaver Creek Road) and continue for 8 miles to the Ochoco National Forest boundary. 

At the boundary County Road 113 (Beaver Creek Road) becomes Forest Service Road 58. 

Continue on Forest Service Road 58 for 1 mile and turn left onto Forest Service Road 5810. 

Continue for 11 miles to the junction of Forest Service Road 5810, Forest Service Road 200, and Forest Service Road 38. 

Continue straight at the intersection which will put you on Forest Service Road 200. 

Proceed for 4 miles and Rim Trailhead will be marked with a rock cairn on your right. 

This is also the same point where Ochoco Mountain Trail (#823) crosses the Forest Service Road 200.

CAUTION: Forest Service Road 3800-200 is a primitive road not suitable for trailers or low-clearance vehicles. Road may not be passable to 4x4s in wet conditions.
