Twin Pillars TH

This trailhead provides access to the Twin Pillars Trail (#832) and is located at the same parking area as the Wildcat Campground picnic area. This is a well developed trailhead that provides access to Mill Creek Wilderness.

Permit Info: Please fill out a Wilderness Registration Permit located in the box attached to the sign board and place it in the slot before beginning your hike.
Restrictions: Mountain bikes & motorized use prohibited on Twin Pillars Trail. Wilderness regulations apply. This is a Day-Use only facility.  No overnight camping is permitted at trailheads or Sno-Parks on the Ochoco National Forest or Crooked River National Grassland.

General Information


From Prineville, Oregon:

Take Highway 26 east for approximately 7 miles past Ochoco Reservoir, then turn left onto Forest Service Road 33 (Mill Creek Road).  

Continue for approximately 10 miles to where Forest Service Road 33 makes a sharp left turn.  

Instead of taking the turn, continue straight and Twin Pillars South Trailhead will be on your right before you get to Wildcat Campground.
