Giddy-Up Go Loop Trail (#830)

This loop trail is located southwest of Mill Creek Wilderness and accessed via the Giddy-Up Go Trailhead near Dry Creek Horse Camp.

Though it was orignially designed for horseback riding, this trail also makes for a pleasant hike through ponderosa and mixed conifer forests that is easily accessible from Prineville.

See the Giddy-Up Go Trail map for more information.

Day Hiking

This loop trail could be completed in one day by some very fit hikers, however there is also the option to shorten the trek by taking the Giddy-Up Go Tie Trail (#830A).

Backpacking

The length of the entire loop trail is 12.70 miles which is a pretty long hike for most people.  That being said there are no designated camp spots along the trail, however camping along the way is an option.  The Forest Service asks that those who do decide to camp along the trail be concious of their environmental impact and practice Leave No Trace principles to the best of their abilities.
