Esmeralda Trailhead

Area Status: Unreachable

Provides access to Esmerelda Basin Trail #1394 and Ingalls Way Trail #1390 which enters Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

October 21, 2016: Forest Road 9737 North Fork Teanaway was damaged by flood waters between the Iron Peak Trailhead and the Esmeralda / Ingalls Way Trailhead on Thursday October 20. Vehicle access to DeRoux Trailhead, Iron Peak Trailhead, and Esmeralda / Ingalls Way Trailhead and trails is not possible. Repairs this fall are not likely. For additional information please contact the Cle Elum Ranger Station.

General Information


From  Cle Elum, WA  follow Highway 903/W for 2 miles. Continue straight onto Highway 10/ 970 and follow for 6.5 miles. Turn left on Teanaway Road North Fork and follow for 13 miles. Then stay right on Forest Road 9737 and follow for about 9.6 miles to the Esmeralda trailhead.
