The Chain Lakes Trail is 5.0 miles long, gains 1900 feet of elevation, and is primarily recreated by hikers. This steep trail within Alpine Lakes Wilderness provides access to the high elevation Chain and Doelle Lakes. The trail begins 9 miles up Icicle Creek Trail #1551, and climbs steeply through forested and rocky areas until it ends at Doelle Lakes and the junction of the Icicle Ridge Trail #1570. There are designated hiker campsites at Chain and Doelle Lakes, and stock use at the Chain Lakes is recommended for day use only. Chain Lakes Trail may also be accessed from the Pacific Crest Trail #2000 S from Stevens Pass for 4.5 miles, to Icicle Creek Trail #1551 for 3 miles, to Chain Lakes Trail #1559.
