Billy Goat Pass/Eightmile Pass Loop Trail

This is a 12 mile loop, mostly within the  Pasayten Wilderness. From Billy Goat Trailhead, beginning at the upper, hiker trailhead, follow Hidden Lakes Trail #477, to the right, for 4 miles, then turn right onto Drake Creek Trail #502A, at 3.1 miles turn right onto Larch Creek/Billy Goat Pass Trail #502 and travel 4.9 miles over Billy Goat Pass and back to Billy Goat Trailhead.

General Information


From Winthrop travel north on West Chewuch Road (county road 1213) for 9.2 miles. Turn left onto Eightmile Creek Road (Forest Service Road 5130) drive for 16.2 miles to the Billy Goat Trailhead. Follow Hidden Lakes Trail #477 for 4 miles, turn right unto Drake Creek Trail #502A, at 3.1 miles, turn right onto Larch Creek Trail #502 and travel 4.9 miles to return back to Billy Goat Trailhead.

General Notes:

There are several places to camp along the Drake Creek Trail #502A and on the northside of Billy Goat Pass.
