The trail is maintained yearly up to the junction with North Fork Fish Creek Trail #1248.1. Much of this trail was burned in 2001 with very high intensity burn area starting at 1 mile from the Lakeshore Trail. The only safe place to camp on the Fish Creek Trail is at Dilly Dally Camp near the end of the trail.
