Yellow Hill Trail #1222

The Yellow Hill Trail begins on a private road in section 16, and ends at Jolly Mountain Trail #1307.

Operational Hours: June - October Seasonal motorized closure in effect yearly snowfall through June 15. If conditions permit, this trail may be opened to motorized use prior to June 15 and will be posted open at that time both on the ground and on this site.

General Information

Directions:

From Cle Elum, WA travel about 8 miles east on Highway 970. Turn left (north) on Teanaway Road and travel about 7.3 miles, then left on West Fork Teanaway Road for 0.7 miles, then right on Middle Fork Teanaway Road. Continue past the end of the county road (end of pavement) on to Forest Road 4305-113 (travel about 4.5 miles from West Fork Teanaway Rd). One-quarter mile past the crossing of Middle Fork Teanaway River, the first right is where the trail begins.

Very steep trail for mountain bikes.

DESCRIPTION: From the south, this trail climbs steeply to near

the top of Yellow Hill. It then follows the ridgetops to Elbow Peak

and is very rocky and narrow in places. From Elbow Peak it stays

near the ridgetops and is very steep, narrow and rugged, ending

at Jolly Mountain, where it becomes the Jolly Mtn. Trail 1307.

SETTING: Large old-growth timber south of Yellow Hill, open

rocky ridgetops, meadows.

There is plenty of parking along FS

Road 4305-113. This trailhead is unimproved and has no facilities.
