South Fork Tieton Trail #1120

Loop trail within Goats Rocks Wilderness starting at Conrad Meadows.  The first 4 miles through the meadows are flat terrain.  The trail then climbs 1600 feet and loops back through timber.  Heavily used by hikers and horses.

  • Camping prohibited within 100 feet of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and within 100 feet of lakes.
  • Shoe Lake basin and Snow Grass Flats are closed to camping and campfires; camping is available at Hidden Springs (about 1 mile west of Shoe Lake).
  • The Yakima Indian Reservation, bordering the Goat Rocks Wilderness on the southeast side, is closed to the general public except for the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail route

General Information


Access the trailhead from U.S. Highway 12 to the west entrance to the Tieton Road, 1200.  Drive to forest road 1000 and follow to end.

Parking for six cars, barrier free for three cars.
